Instructors

Kathy plays the flute, guitar and piano and is a
professional vocalist.  She has been in numerous bands
performing jazz, blues, country, rock, classical and pop
over the years.

She has performed in two man shows, night club/bar
bands, Big Band and Symphony Orchestras.  She has
written numerous originals on different instruments in
different genres.

She currently performs with the Buffalo Philharmonic
Chorus and each season regularly appears at Kleinhans
Music Hall, Artpark, the Bisons stadium in Downtown
Buffalo, Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna, and
the Chautauqua Institution.  She also takes part in hosting
the new Buffalo Sings! Serious in the region that has
already drawn thousands of participants and music
educators from the USA and Canada.  She has performed
under the direction of world famous composer Marvin
Hamlisch who has won an Emmy, Grammy, an Oscar, a
Tony, a Pulitzer Prize and a Golden Globe!  She has also
worked under Joanna Falletta, Maximiano Valdes and
Robert Franz.  She currently takes vocal direction from two
time Grammy award winner and author Doreen Rao.

Kathy recently returned from Prague in the Czech Republic
after a performance of the Defiant Requiem with the Czech
National Symphony and some of the members of the
Washington DC Symphony, in honor of those who lost
their lives in the concentration camps in WW1.  This
performance was widely reported across Europe and was
attended by Diplomats from over 400 countries.

Kathy, as the lead female vocalist with the Easy Street Big
Band, a 19 piece orchestra, recently won the “Best Jazz
Big Band” award for the 4th consecutive year at the Buffalo
Music Awards.  

She is a music teacher at Pro Music Performance Center
and a member of the Performing Group of the Niagara
Frontier Flute Association as well as being on both the
Membership and Concert Committees of the Buffalo
Philharmonic Chorus.
